Welcome Spring & Welcome Messy Nest

When you get into serious dating, what’s the first question you ask? “Do you want to have a family?”

What are you supposed to say? “Na, I want to stay single.” Which at that point you would be back at square one!

No, of course you want a family, even if it is only you and your spouse. What they really mean is do you want to have kids. Then it’s inevitably a tug-of-war between who wants the most kids. It sounds like you are haggling at a yard sale over some insignificant object. The trouble is you don’t know what kind of kid you are going to get or how many will come per pregnancy. The most air tight deal between parents on this subject is overridden by divine discord, the destroyer of perfect planning.

The manifold truth is this: you will be unprepared, you will be imperfect, you will be challenged and you will love it — all of it. In the end, you wouldn’t trade your unique batch of chicks for the world. So as Spring unfolds this year, remember that even the birds are cared for, so your nest is safe in His hands and out of your control.
